We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an award-winning Pharmaceutical organization based in Louth. This is an excellent position for anyone who is looking to join a leading multinational who are one of the best at what they do.
Duties:
- Integrate EHS requirements into capital projects, facility upgrades, and process changes.
- Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and ensure closure of EHS-related actions prior to commissioning.
- Perform field walkdowns to identify hazards and verify engineering controls.
- Support criticality assessments for equipment, utilities, and processes impacting safety and compliance.
- Lead development and implementation of High Hazard Programs (e.g., Construction Safety, ATEX, Process Safety Management).
- Support Biosafety programs including containment strategy validation.
- Support Hazardous Waste and Chemical Inventory systems in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
- Schedule and coordinate Industrial Hygiene Monitoring (air sampling, noise, exposure assessments).
- Support Machine Safety and LOTO programs for equipment installations and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations including HSA and EPA.
- Implementation of Construction, Machinery and other EHS Regulations.
- Develop and maintain assigned EHS programs and provide support for other programmes.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Deliver technical EHS training to projects, engineering, operations, and laboratory staff.
- Promote safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
- Documentation & Reporting
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional certifications are highly desirable.
- ATEX/Machinery or PSM-specific training/certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or chemical manufacturing environments supporting projects/operations.
- Proven experience supporting capital projects, facility upgrades, and equipment installations with EHS integration.
- Demonstrated involvement in GMP-regulated operations and cleanroom environments.
- Proficient with Construction Safety and associated regulations and requirements.
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and implementation.
- Experience conducting Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and criticality assessments for new equipment and systems.
- Proficient in field walkdowns, hazard identification, and verification of engineering controls.
- In-depth understanding of HSA, EPA, and other applicable EHS regulations.
- Experience with PSDP and PSCS requirements
