Senior Microbiologist

We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an Pharmaceutical organization based in Greece.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of microbiologists to ensure all microbiological processes meet regulatory standards and project timelines.
- Oversee microbiological testing, including environmental monitoring, sterility testing, endotoxin testing, and microbial identification, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GMP.
- Review and evaluate microbiological data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the microbiology team, helping resolve any scientific or operational challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality Control, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs) to ensure alignment on remediation activities and project goals.
- Ensure all microbiological procedures and documentation adhere to regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, etc.) and internal SOPs.
- Participate in investigations related to microbiological deviations, OOS results, and CAPAs, providing expert insight and solutions.
- Support training and development of team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure all microbiological testing and data are accurately recorded, analyzed, and reported, in compliance with GMP and other regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in microbiology within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including significant experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth understanding of GMP, FDA, and EMA regulations related to microbiology in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with remediation or compliance projects is highly desirable.
